Accidental Damage Protection (24 Months) – $159.00

Accidental Damage Protection

What is covered?

Accidental Damage provides coverage for a product that fails to operate under normal use as specified by the manufacturer because:

  • The product was unintentionally dropped.
  • The product fell down.
  • The product had an unintentional collision with another product or in a place of use.
  • An unintentional spill.

The key here is damage under normal use. This means while it is being used/handled. Portable devices that aren’t in use need to be stored properly.

What is Not Covered by Accidental Damage?
In addition to specific terms and conditions, the following are causal circumstances under which an Accidental Damage claim would be inadmissible and ineligible for repair or replacement provisioning:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Conditions covered by a Manufacturer’s Warranty or Extended Service Contract.
  • Intentional, willful or malicious acts.
  • Gross negligence.
  • Intentional misuse.
  • Theft, lost or stolen.
  • Damage caused while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Fire from external source or intentionally damaged.
  • Acts of God, including electrical surge damage or other events beyond the control of the party.
  • Misuse or storage of product in violation of manufacturer’s specifications or events normally covered by casualty insurance.
  • Unauthorized repairs
  • Cosmetic damage or other damage not affecting the functionality of the product.

Is there a deductible for Accidental Damage repairs and replacements?

  1. Phones that are damaged (either drop page or water submersion) and are able to be repaired, will incur a $75 deductible.
  2. If a phone is replaced due to accidental damage, a $149 device replacement fee will apply.
  3. Repairs due to standard defects (like those covered by the manufacturer) do not require a deductible to be paid.

Can a customer with ADP file a claim in the first 30 days?
Customers cannot make a claim under the ADP program until 30 days after the original date of purchase.

Does a customer need to buy ADP coverage on the spot or do they have 30 days to decide?
For Tablet and Phone ADP contracts, coverage programs MUST be purchased at the point of tablet sale; ADH coverage programs may NOT be purchased on the device after their date of purchase.

How many repairs or replacements can a customer make if they purchase ADP coverage for Tablet and Mobile Phones?

There are no limits to the number of repairs during the contract term. However, if it is determined that it is more economical to replace the device or the total aggregate repairs exceed the original purchase price of the device, the contract will be considered fulfilled. If a customer wishes to continue coverage on their replacement device, they will need to purchase another Performance Protection Plan.
